Last week I had the privilege of working with this beautiful little family while they were on vacation to the Sunshine State. It didn’t hurt that they were here to visit me! Yes, my cousin, whom I hadn’t seen in nearly eight years, and his wife and two daughters were in from Connecticut and so, with my trusty camera in tow, I decided to document our days. Immediately it was like no time had passed since we last saw one another, but what was so special was that I was able to watch my cousin in this stage of his life for the first time. Watching the rapport between he and his wife and children was such a joy; seeing these bubbling faces so full of love, it was infectious. One of my favorite things about lifestyle photography is the ability to capture such a wide range of shared moments between family; the little things you don’t often get to preserve in a picture. The hugs and smiles and laughter, the loud moments with children flying through the air and splashing in the waves, but also the quieter moments when you’re hunting for shells with your daughter or simply strolling the beach. They all come together to create something that is truly honest. From the woods to the resort to the beach, this past week was full of the loud and the quiet, all wrapped up in a lot of love.
